How often should you detail your car?

A practical guide to detailing cycles for daily drivers, prestige vehicles and ceramic-coated paint.

The right detailing cadence isn't a single answer — it depends on how you drive, where you park and how the car is protected. As a rule of thumb, most clients benefit from a full detail once or twice a year with a maintenance detail every four to six weeks in between.

Daily drivers that live outside collect traffic film, brake dust and environmental contamination faster than garaged vehicles. Regular safe washes preserve any protection you have on the paint and prevent contaminants from bonding.

Prestige and ceramic-coated vehicles benefit from a scheduled maintenance detail. A well-maintained coating can last years, but only when it's washed and topped up correctly.

The single best thing you can do between details is to avoid automated car washes. The rotating brushes and reclaimed water cause the majority of swirl marks and micro-scratches we see on customer vehicles.
